Annual Spring clean-up
Huge success.
A big thank you to the more than 30 adults and kids who showed up to get down and dirty and drag debris out of the woods near Prisoner's Pond - - including two Girl Scout Troops, and Verona representatives from UNICO.
Our "finds" over the weekend included, but were not limited to:
- 50 tires (car, truck and tractor)!
- 16 lawnmowers (3 old-fashioned, 11 push and 2 riding ones)
- 7 big 55-gallon drums
- 4 filing cabinets
- 2 desks, 3 office chairs, multiple folding chairs
- 1 washing machine
- 200+ feet of steel pipe
- 1 gurney and 1 autopsy table (no fooling!)
- window frames & screens, metal doors, tin roofing, garage door springs, beds and mattresses, cafeteria pans & utensils
- 30+ cans of old varnish
- enough smaller miscellaneous bits & pieces to fill 8 huge trash bags
- and much much more!!
Additional pictures from the clean-up are posted the websites of Verona Living and the Verona-Cedar Patch
Check them all out, and see what just a few hours of time from some crazy volunteers can do .....
Thanks again for everyone's help.
Hope to see you soon on the Hilltop!
